Description:Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) exam is a body created by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). RPSC conducts the state-level civil services exam, which is also known as Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Exam. RPSC RAS exam is the gateway for those who want to enter into the RAS. For this exam Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and the age of the candidates should be a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 40 years.

The RAS exam consists of three different stages:

  • The first one is the Prelims exam. (Objective Test)
  • The second one is the Mains exam. (Descriptive Test) 
  • The third one is the Interview round

Candidates have to score passing marks in both the exam in order to be eligible for the interview round, if a candidate passes the Prelims exam, only then they can give the mains exam, after clearing the mains exam there will be an interview round.

Prelims exam

There will be an objective type paper which will consist of 200 marks and it will take 3 hours to complete the exam. Applicants have to complete their exams within the deadline of timing.

Mains Exam


After scoring the passing for the RAS Prelim or first stage exam candidates have to appear for the RAS Mains exam. Mains exam consists of 4 papers, in which there are three papers for general studies and one for the general Hindi and general English. All the question papers will be the descriptive type which will consist of 200 marks for each paper. RAS Mains marks counted for the final merit list along with the Interview marks. The duration is 3 hours each.

RAS Interview Test:
Candidates who qualify for the RAS Mains Exam are called for the ‘Interview’ Round. Candidates will be interviewed by a Board appointed by Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). Basically, this is a personality test interview. RAS interview consists of 100 marks. There will be a Test/Viva-voce in the interview round by the appointed board.
